At Risk Requirerements Hauke High School 2015-2016
Hauke High School is the CISD’s designated campus to meet the needs of at-risk students. At risk includes, but is not limited to, the following criteria:
Not meeting the requirements necessary for promotion to the next grade level or graduation from high school.
Educational attainment is below other students of the same age and grade level.
Potential dropout or previously reported as a drop out on PEIMS.
Has failed or is failing 2 or more academic subjects.
Is 2 or more semester credits per year behind the rate required to graduate.
Has an overall GPA that is less than 1.5 (4.0 scale)
Has repeated at least one grade (includes holding back at parent request).
Has not passed exit-level TAKS.
Not reading on grade level.
Is in the custody, care or has been referred to the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services
Is pregnant or a parent
Is a court or agency referral
Students who are seniors and on track to graduate with their peers, or who have already passed their exit-level TAKS are usually not candidates for attending Hauke.
In order to attend Hauke, a student must complete an application. The application process will measure the student’s aptitude and attitude for completing their high school graduation requirements. Additionally, the process will involve documenting the student’s current behavioral conduct and school attendance. If there is documentation to show that the student has behavioral or attendance issues, the student will most likely be asked to complete a 6 or 9 week probationary period at their home campus before reapplying to Hauke.
